About MfCA Wappingers Falls
The Museum for Contemporary Artists was started as a space to reimagine what the word museum can be when discussed by the community and other artists. We have two important foundational concepts: Do no harm to the environment and take care in whatever is purchased. Here you will also find that context, intention, and scale are paramount to the work created. Some of the issues we are working on include micro plastics, capitalism, domestic violence, community safety, and self empowerment. Some of the questions we are asking is where does the art belong, who is the art for, why are we always competing as artists with one another, and what can community/artists abundance look like. Some frameworks we are working on include The Artists Open call, Be The Museum, and Be the Archivists.
